We are looking for a Senior Accountant with 8+ years of experience in a Contracting, Engineering and/or Manufacturing industry to join our Finance and Accounting team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, coordinating audits, managing cash flow, conducting financial analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving process improvements within the accounting function while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable international accounting standards.
Maintenance of General Ledger Accounts and ensuring reconciliation and accuracy of information and adherence to companies SOP and internal controls
Audit Coordination: Facilitate external and internal audits, ensuring a smooth process and addressing any findings
Performing Monthly bank reconciliation and weekly cash position report
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, offering insights into cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and overall financial performance
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence and timely updates to regulatory requirements, including but not limited to UAE CIT, VAT, ESR, and UBO reporting.
Month-End and Year-End Closures: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate financial records
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, optimizing liquidity and recommending strategies for improvement
Financial Systems: Utilize and optimize financial systems, recommending improvements and ensuring efficient utilization
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to support overall organizational goals
Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues
Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements within the accounting function, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness

Job Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Relevant certification will be preferred (CPA/ CA/CMA/ACCA)
Substantial experience in accounting roles, demonstrating progressive responsibility
Strong analytical, leadership, and excellent communication skills
Knowledge of JD Edwards accounting software, or equivalent ERP software.
