School Counsellor - Dubai

Arab Unity School (Al Mizhar) is seeking a dedicated School Counsellor to join our wellbeing team. The ideal candidate will provide professional counselling support to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while working closely with teachers and parents to create a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver one-to-one and group counselling sessions that support students’ academic performance, emotional resilience, and social development.
• Design and run wellbeing programmes that promote resilience, a growth mindset, and positive mental health across year groups.
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and parents to identify needs, share strategies, and implement support plans.
• Monitor and document student progress, maintain confidentiality and keep accurate case notes and wellbeing records.
• Lead interventions and preventative initiatives to address common pastoral concerns and promote a safe, inclusive school culture.
• Refer and coordinate with external specialists when additional assessment or specialist support is required.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Psychology — applications without this qualification will not be considered.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate, patient approach to working with young people.
• Proven commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents and external agencies.
