Role Description

Jewelust is seeking a full-time, on-site Accountant based in Dubai to support the financial operations of our jewelry, gold, and bullion trading business. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts and stock-related transactions, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial and tax regulations in the UAE.

The ideal candidate must have solid experience in the gold industry and a strong understanding of accounting processes related to high-value inventory, stock reconciliation, bullion or jewelry transactions, and financial controls. This role requires close coordination with sales, operations, procurement, and management to ensure accuracy across financial and inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting transactions, journal entries, ledger postings, and reconciliations
Maintain accurate records of gold, bullion, and jewelry purchases, sales, transfers, and stock movements
Perform regular reconciliation between physical stock, inventory records, and accounting records
Track cost, purity, weight, making charges, premiums, and related inventory valuations where applicable
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and month-end / year-end closing schedules
Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payment follow-up
Ensure compliance with UAE financial, VAT, and internal control requirements
Assist with audit preparation and support internal and external auditors
Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance
Coordinate with internal departments to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 4 years of accounting experience in the gold industry is required
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
Experience in jewelry, gold, bullion, or precious metals trading is highly preferred
Good understanding of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation
Familiarity with UAE tax and compliance requirements
Proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are a plus
English fluency required; Arabic is an advantage
