Sr. Accountant Required in Dubai

Job Purpose

To analyse the financial performance of subsidiaries, prepare financial reports, maintain the general ledger and to perform financial accounting tasks whilst at all times ensuring the confidentiality of data.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Review of all data pertaining to payroll
Processing employees' settlements
Processing month end payroll
Issue relevant inter-company debit and credit memo, maintain accounting journal and ledgers by verifying and posting transactions.
As and when needed, prepare monthly management accounts including trial balance, statement of comprehensive income, financial position and cash flow.
Run month end and review (all payroll ledger transactions, debtors and creditors transaction, and verify the GL trial balance).
Assist In other matters related to Finance and accounting as and when needed.
Any other duties as reasonable requested by the line/function manager.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in finance.
CA, ACCA or CPA

Experience

Minimum seven (7) years in a similar role with at least three (3) years in payroll for companies with > 1000 employees.
Experience with BuildSmart is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of IAS, IFRS and ISA
Thorough knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel and ERP systems
Working knowledge of value added tax (VAT)
Financial transactions and management reporting
Able to implement administrative processes and pro-actively resolve problems
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Analytical skills (Collecting, observing and interpreting data)
Approachable and positive attitude
Excellent time management skills and able to work to strict deadlines
Fluent English language ability both spoken and written. Arabic is beneficial.

Working Conditions

Office based
May be required to work additional hours in case of emergencies, deadlines or at the end of the period end
Regular office hours with the occasional need for working on weekends or as required
