Senior Accountant Required in Dubai

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyse financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate also has experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants.

Key Responsibilities:
Create and analyse liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports.
Verify, allocate and reconcile accounts payable and receivable/s.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
Create and implement Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures.
Prepare revenue projections and forecast expenditure.
Assist with annual audit preparations and direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Support month-end and year-end closing process.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Contribute to company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties.
Liaise with DFreight Finance Manager and management team to improve financial procedures and practices.

Requirements
Professional qualification in Finance and Accounting (preferably CA or equivalent).
7 to 9 years' experience
Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or senior accountant
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages - QuickBooks
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Familiarity with financial accounting statements and reporting as well as taxes
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP
Auditing skills
Analytical and reporting skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Advanced MS Excel skills
