Senior Accountant Required in Dubai
We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Al Ghurair Properties.
In this role, you will be responsible for General Ledger, VAT and Accounts payable and supervising of daily and periodic accounts receivable transactions along with the assistance to Assistant Finance Manager on provision of financial data and reports for decision making purposes.
The Senior Accountant needs to establish the integrity of accounting information under the guidelines of IFRS by recording, verifying, consolidating, and reconciling transactions. He/she is required to ensure accuracy and completeness by using a holistic view through various reports such as Payable Aging, Bank Reconciliation, Sub- Ledger Reconciliation and others.
Candidates with atleast 2-3 years experience in Big 4 firms preferred.
Responsibilities
Planning and execution of financial day to day task and monthly closing.
Preparing financial statements, income statements, and forecasts for the business to ensure financial stability.
Preparing VAT returns, and reports required by regulatory authorities.
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Managing the risks involved in the financial activities of the business.
Compiling financial reports i.e. staff cost allocation, fixed assets movement, actual vs budget etc. and provide support in month-end processes
Reviewing bank reconciliations and aim towards a downward trend in unreconciled items
Assisting in preparation of financial statements and monthly schedules with detailed movement analysis.
Assisting in facilitating internal and external audit queries.
Providing training to other team members regarding financial processes.
Ad-Hoc reporting
Education, Experience and Skills
Certified Accountant – CA, ACCA, CMA, ICEWA
Experience in working with the Big 4 firms atleast 2-3 years
8 years of experience preferably real estate background
Strong knowledge of International Accounting Standards and IFRS
A good understanding of financial management obligations, especially statutory obligations, and requirements.
Analytical thinker with strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
Proficiency in financial planning software such as Microsoft Excel and Oracle.
Ability to work independently
