Senior Accountant Required in Dubai

Established in 2015 and headquartered in the UAE, BitOasis is MENA’s largest crypto platform. The company recently announced the completion of a USD $30m Series B financing, the largest to date of any crypto platform in the region, from a combination of leading global and regional investors including WAMDA, Jump Capital, Alameda Research, and Pantera Capital. Earlier in 2021, BitOasis announced that it had crossed over USD $3bn in trade executed on its platform since inception with half of that volume being originated in 2021 alone.

Senior Accountant will be responsible for timely closing of month end accounting, updating monthly and daily entries, timely updating reconciliations and reporting schedules. Ensures all financial is accurately reported on a timely basis, in line with IFRS.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to verify all entries have been created and posted, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and cohesiveness of information.
Reconcile bank statements in a timely manner and ensuring the GL accounts are up to date.
Review and reconcile the general ledger, identifying and thoroughly investigating any discrepancies and taking the proper corrective actions to resolve them.
Assist in VAT filing procedures
Maintain all vendor accounts within company policy. Referencing outstanding bills.
Perform accruals while ensuring supporting statements and workings are in line with Company policy.
Support external audits and respond to audit requirements when requested.
Gather all necessary reports and detailed support both periodically and on-demand.
Accurately complete the financial accounting of cost centres in a timely manner, register detailed ledgers, and summarize financial data.
Records and reconcile Intercompany transactions
Help create a continuous process improvement environment.
Analyse journals, produce data analysis and reports, and assist with variance analysis
Perform ad hoc operational duties & responsibilities as and when required.

Requirements
An accounting or finance professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA)
5+ years of relevant work experience
Experience of working at Group Reporting
Good written & oral communication skills - Fluent English
Proficient in using Microsoft office
High sense of responsibility and Team-oriented personality
Knowledge of IFRS and IAS
High level of integrity and dependability with strong sense of urgency and details & results-orientation
Analytical & Numerical skills, Attention to detail
A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
