Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide HR support to line management in resolving local employee relations and performance issues, interpreting policy in line with regulatory and university guidelines while supporting recruitment for a client group of Deans, Directors and Hiring Managers to meet University manpower needs.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & On-boarding:
• Supports the recruitment of top talent in ADU by sourcing talent from a variety of
databases, career sites, internal website application processes and other available
resources.
• Conducts on-boarding and orientation sessions for new joining faculty and staff.
• Prepare new hires, termination, and employee-related documents such as joining
report, job offers, etc.
• Drafts and maintains job descriptions and specifications for each position in the University and ensures they are updated regularly
Employee Relations:
• Advises line managers on resolving employee relations issues by and escalating more
complex issues to HR Services Manager.
• Conducts fair and impartial investigations of faculty and staff grievances as they arise
in line with regulatory and university guidelines.
• Prepares disciplinary letters, issues verbal warnings, and warning letters in support of
a progressive disciplinary process in coordination with line managers.
• Communicates contents of the employee handbook and HR policies and procedures manual to line management, faculty and staff.
Performance Management
• Assists line management in conducting performance management reviews and
appraisals for their team in alignment with ADU goals and objectives.
• Consolidates annual training calendar and training plans for staff.
Client services
• Acts as a point of contact for faculty and staff within HR and champion ADU best
practises in alignment of ADU employment value proposition.
• Maintains current organizational charts for all university departments.
• Assists HR Services Manager in daily operational activities of the department by
ensuring compliance with MOL, Higher Education, and UAE legislation and regulations
in all activities.
• Assists HR Services Manager in compiling HR metrics, analyzing, reporting and identifying trends with recommendations as needed.
Skills and knowledge:
• Bachelor’s in any related discipline, HR is preferable
Master’s is an advantage
• Must have HR related specialized certifications
• 5-7 years of HR Experience.
• HR and recruitment knowledge.
• Ability to design clear and fair company policies
• English is a must; Arabic is required.
• Problem-solving, critical thinking, people-management, interpersonal, customer service, multi-tasking, prioritization,
flexibility and working well under pressure skills
