We are seeking a creative and versatile Graphic Designer to produce eye-catching visuals for social media, reels/video thumbnails, infographics, and other digital assets. The ideal candidate will combine strong design skills with an understanding of digital storytelling, maintain brand consistency, and transform ideas into visually compelling content that resonates with audiences.

Responsibilities:

Design engaging social media creatives, reels/video thumbnails, infographics, and other digital content that align with editorial objectives.
Maintain brand guidelines and ensure visual consistency across all platforms.
As a news organization, time is of essence, some task must be completed under tight deadlines.
Collaborate with editorial and video teams to translate concepts into impactful designs.
Stay updated on design and social media trends, implementing innovative and modern visual approaches.
Adapt designs based on feedback and evolving project requirements.
Ideate and create visually appealing posts from concepts provided by the editorial team.
Optimize graphics for multiple digital platforms, ensuring clarity and visual impact.
Assist in motion graphics or simple video editing for digital content, when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro).
Experience with Canva, After Effects, Figma, or similar design tools.
Strong conceptual and visual thinking, with a keen eye for color, typography, and composition.
Ability to create attention-grabbing, trending content tailored for social media.
Flexible and adaptable to feedback and changing priorities.
Understanding of digital media trends and audience engagement strategies is a plus.
Experience with motion graphics or short-form video content is desirable.
