We have a brand new and exciting opportunity to join our rapidly expanding Middle East business as a General Accountant to be assigned in PureGym-UAE.

THE ROLE:

Contribute to the effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and problem-solving abilities to ensure success.

THE JOB:

Day to day management of the sales and payables ledger through raising Invoices, recording invoices and cash application.
Preparation of weekly payment runs and relationship management with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibility for fixed asset accounting including categorization of capex, reviewing depreciation, and recording disposals/transfers.
Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
Cash and banking entries alongside monthly reconciliation of accounts and management of petty cash across multiple sites.
Expense booking and ownership of specific accruals and provisions as part of the month end process.
Help reinforce controls, policies and procedures across the wider business eg: Stock counts, Physical asset counts.
Take responsibility for the filing of key business documents and assist in the provision of audit evidence when necessary.
Assist with the preparation of KPI reports including variance analysis as directed by senior management.
Assist with monthly closing process and communication with the accounting department.

THE PERSON:

Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent in a relevant subject (Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business Studies).
At least 2 years work experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or General Ledger accounting.
Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
Proficiency in the use of accounting software and business intelligence/enterprise reporting systems.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, Index Match, V lookups).
An ability to demonstrate accuracy, time management, organisational and Investigative skills.
A great team player that can positively challenge and bring out the best in others.
Can effectively build strong working relationships and networks to enable success.
Analytical and inquisitive minded with an excellent eye for detail.
A trouble shooter with a solution orientated approach to difficult tasks.
Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.
