Financial Controller - Private Equity & Asset Management Required in Dubai

Venture Search is partnered with an Abu Dhabi based asset manager with significant AUM's across both Private and Public investments. Their portfolio extends across international markets and multiple asset classes.

This opportunity is unique, in that it will join a newly created finance function within a well capitalised proprietary investment firm, working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to build a best in class financial control and corporate accounting function. The successful candidate will be able to contribute towards shaping and developing the finance function, in particular group consolidation and reporting, with the opportunity to take ownership for how the corporate accounting and financial control will look and operate moving forwards.

This role will suit a finance professional who has experience in driving automation, implementation of an ERP (preferably Oracle), transformation, and will proactively look for opportunities to optimise processes and create a best in practice financial control function.

This role would suit an individual with experience working for either an international asset manager, large conglomerate, group, family holding, or investment firm with direct experience in group consolidation, with hands on experience in SPV accounting and reporting/consolidation for multiple SPVs and entities. The successful candidate would likely have trained within a Big 4 accounting firm, and have at least 8 years PQE.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as this role will interface with board and exco members.

The role:

Maintain group level finance and accounting for multiple group entities and SPVs in line with IFRS
Participation in management and oversight of the group reporting process
Coordinate with colleagues within fund accounting and operations for the group reporting and consolidation process
Plan and coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits
Oversight of treasury exposures and operations
Ensure that any local or international tax exposures and handled correctly as per local and international tax regulations/law.
The candidate:

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
Big 4 trained
Excellent knowledge of IFRS
8+ years experience in accounting and financial consolidation and reporting for an asset manager/group/private equity firm/real estate firm/similar with large number of group entities and subsidiaries and SPVs
Experience working in investment management or financial services within a developed financial services market
Must be willing to be based in Abu Dhabi (international candidates with relevant experience willing to relocate will be considered)
