Position Summary

Provide a full range of management control including policy setting, monitor and control business performance to ensure best practices are implemented in DIFC.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and responsible for the planning, forecasting, and budgeting to cover all regional branches.
Facilitate the expansion plans through effective cash and capital management.
Develop key metrics, KPI, benchmarking and productivity analysis.
Develop, manage, and implement regional financial reporting and management reporting capabilities. This includes supervising and reviewing the work of the Senior Accountant at month/quarter/year-end in order to ensure accurate financial and management reporting on a timely basis and respecting Gallagher Group deadlines and requirements.
Providing adequate guidance and effectively managing and reviewing the work of the Senior Accountant.
Implement key corporate strategies to preserve capital, cut costs, and deliver high margin products strategies.
Review on operational efficiencies, develop and implement cost-saving opportunities and associated control enhancement.
Accountable for the identification, management, mitigation, and reporting of all risks arising from the operation in DIFC.
Management of relationships with UK and regional stakeholders, auditors, and the finance community.
Responsible for local statutory filings.

Required:

Qualifications

Qualified accountant (5 years+ post qualification - recognized qualification) with relevant working experience (Insurance Broking/Financial Services preferred)
Educated to degree level or equivalent desired
Technical Knowledge

Previously held a certified role or demonstrates a good understanding of the requirements
Knowledge of Accounting standards and their application in Financial Services
Sound understanding of cost allocation methodologies and their relative merits

Skills & Experience

Business acumen experience in commerciality and risk awareness
Ability to build rapport, establish credibility, and to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels - internally and externally
Results-oriented mind set with a drive for growth
High degree of self-awareness and self-management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience of working in a global, matrix management organization, with the upmost integrity and confidentiality
Self-motivated and motivates others to achieve targets and goals
Able to work under pressure
