Business Development Manager Required in Dubai
Job Purpose:
Build, lead and manage high-performing teams to grow and acquire new business and devise compelling solutions to meet client objectives whilst driving revenues and delivering extraordinary levels of customer service. Develop and drive the long-term strategic business development (BD) plan, supported by an annual sales plan, to enable the department to meet targets for revenue growth, profitability and market share. Represent the business in negotiations, evaluating opportunities in line with growth plans of the business unit.
Job Outline:
Plan - Identify, develop and drive the long term (2-3 year) plan and strategy for BD in the assigned business unit / department to deliver business growth targets and profitability.
Ensure alignment between BD strategy and initiatives, division strategy, and Wise Monkeys Corporate Strategies.
Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business and build and establish strong relationship with customers. Plan, design and run campaigns to build strong emotional connection with customers to maintain long-term relationships.
Work closely with support departments to develop sales strategies to improve marketing, sales, and overall business performance.
Directly accountable for the achievement of set revenue and profitability targets, as well as for the budgeting and effective utilization of overhead expenses, manpower resources and capital expenditure.
Manage the annual budgeting process and monthly reforesting by developing and maintaining pipeline management tools and statistics.
Accountable for profitability of all related sales and oversight of the department sales and marketing efforts with clients.
Build, maintain, and lead the Business Development team, and foster a team-based culture, ensuring positive interactions with other teams within business.
Champion a culture of open communication, clear direction, accountability, collaboration and performance management to contribute toward the company’s vision, mission, and values.
Define performance objectives for direct reports and cascade performance objectives for implementation at all levels in the BD structure.
When required, develop training and performance improvement plans to address skill set gaps identified within the BD team and ensure hard work and success is appreciated and recognized.
Establish and manage networks at the highest levels within relevant stakeholder groups and source markets in order to promote the business.
Identify new sources of business that present additional revenue earning opportunities and actively participate in the promotion of the business with potential clients as well as with various media.
Manage the day-to-day Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the BD department ensuring the highest possible standards for both customers and staff to maintain and enhance business reputation.
Represent the company at local and international trade shows, sales trips and networking events where required.
Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for clients and internal / external communications.
Ensure appropriate implementation and effective utilization of CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce/Zoho CRM) throughout BD team.
Ensure new customers are onboarded in a timely manner and in line with contractual scope requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or Honors (12+3 or equivalent)
Understanding of, and experience working with, stakeholders in media production and event management value chain is essential.
Proven track record of selling innovative partnerships and exhibiting creativity in devising value propositions for customers.
Knowledge/Skills:
Advanced, applied knowledge of CRM tools.
Systematic and logical approach to solving problems.
Strong creativity and lateral thinking skills.
Strong leadership skills and can work well as a team player.
Self-motivated, highly organized, pro-active and flexible.
Familiarity with countries, people, and various cultures.
Deep knowledge of the media production industry, including competitor activity and a broad network of industry contacts.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (additional languages like Arabic will be a distinct advantage).
Ability to influence senior level stakeholders internal and external to the organization.
Proven capability to organize, distribute and complete work within a multinational and multicultural environment.
