Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper & Accountant to join our accounting and tax practice, managing a portfolio of clients across different industries.
The role is client-facing and involves full responsibility for bookkeeping, preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements, reconciliations, and periodic reporting for multiple clients. You will work with various accounting software and support junior staff to ensure deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high professional standard.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification or ongoing studies are an advantage (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA).
5+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, with at least 2–3 years in an accounting / audit practice or in a multi-client environment.
Proven experience preparing IFRS-based financial statements for multiple entities.
Strong hands-on experience with at least two of the following: QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, Sage, Tally, Odoo or similar software.
Experience with VAT / corporate tax in the region is an advantage (you can specify UAE or GCC if needed).
Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, month-end close, and IFRS-based reporting.
Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail across many ledgers at once.
Ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines without compromising quality.
Good Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formatting reports).
Strong client communication skills – able to explain accounting matters clearly to non-accountants.
Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work in a fast-paced practice environment.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
KPIs
Timely completion of monthly/quarterly closings for all assigned clients.
Number of post-review adjustments required on client accounts.
Quality of client deliverables (feedback from clients, audit findings).
Accuracy and timeliness of VAT/tax-related entries and reconciliations.
Contribution to process improvements and training within the team.
