Veterinary Nurse Required in Dubai

Veterinary Nurse assists with the medical care, treatment, and surgical procedures under the direct oversight of the Veterinary doctors on duty with a minimum of 5 years experience as Veterinary Nurse in UAE.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor the health of hospitalized pets in conjunction with the medical team.

Prepare patients for surgeries, assist during the surgery and monitor anaesthesia under the direction of the surgeon, following the set protocols for surgeries and anaesthesia.

Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and drug and fluid calculations as the veterinary doctor prescribes.

Perform intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.

Clean and pack surgical instruments

Assist veterinarians and other technicians in performing procedures.

Administer medications to animals as directed by veterinarians

Operate an autoclave and make sure all medical instruments are sterile and in working order before any procedures

Follow veterinary care protocols including medical, behaviour and general care protocols for the health and well-being of the pets.

Trim nails and clean ears on every dog when in surgery.

Cleans the vet room and surgery room according to protocols.

Facilitates good working relationships through teamwork and collaboration.

Refill the supplies for the consultation rooms, Pre-room and Surgery room daily making sure all rooms are fully equipped with the required supplies

Report any shortage in supplies to the line manager.

Maintain a clean/sterile environment according to medical standards across all clinic areas

Ensure all pets are safe to be released before leaving the building.

Adhere to all Vet Team Policies and Procedures

Stay overnight for cases that require intensive care.

Admit and release pets from the boarding and hospital facility in a responsive, courteous, and tactful manner to internal and external customers.

During the emergency night shift, to be available to support the doctor on duty.

Ensure the vet room and paperwork are in order before the veterinarian arrives.

Maintain hospitalized patient records by accurately recording treatments, medications, examinations and test results on patient charts and other medical records.

Participate in regular meetings.

Ability to commute/relocate to Dubai

Experience:

Veterinary nursing: 5 years in UAE (Required)
