Tax Specialist Required in Dubai

Job Summary

Verify and validate taxable person’s registrations and de-registrations requirements and conduct basic checks where exceptions are raised by the processing system.

Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Roles

Review registrations requests along with the supporting documentations submitted by taxable persons.
Verify the supporting documentations, address account detail discrepancies and request supporting documentation.
Verify all voluntary registrations applications and ensure that the files are complete and include all required documentations.
Proactively foster registrations of taxable persons (as instructed by Tax Compliance and Enforcement).
Coordinate with the Very Large Business and Government Services Section to process registrations of Very Large Businesses and Government Entities.
Administer the deposit required at registration.
Oversee all registrations and de-registrations handled by Tax Registration Analysts.
Proactively review taxable person’s accounts to check for de-registration cases.
Coordinate with Taxpayer Services to answer relevant complex/technical queries about registrations and de-registrations.
Monitor registrations for suspicious behaviour.
Review tax agent profiles proposed by taxable persons.
Manage late registrations.
Levy the appropriate penalties and surcharges for late registrations as dictated by the tax policy.

Manage training activities, as requested, for Tax Registration Analysts.

Educational Qualifications and Certifications

Minimum:

Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business, or relevant field, with certifications

Preferred:

Master’s Degree in Management or other relevant degree
CFA and/or CPA and/or ACCA and/or CTA and/or ATT and/or CTP certificate

Work Experience

Minimum:

6+ years’ in tax registration or relevant experience

Preferred:

2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role
Advanced Tax Knowledge
