A U.S. multinational is looking for an ambitious candidate who wants to develop into a world class international tax professional.
Reporting to the Director - International Tax, Planning, and M&A, this role will have broad responsibilities for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and African country tax matters. You will provide support to and be supported by a collaborative tax team. Always challenging, never dull!!
WHAT YOU WILL DO
TAX REPORTING
Assist with preparation of ASC740 and FIN48 reporting requirements for U.S. GAAP tax accounting
Understand local Statutory accounts and perform stat to U.S. GAAP reconciliations
Assist with information gathering for local tax compliance, transfer pricing, and global tax reporting
INTERNATIONAL TAXATION
Specific experience with cross-border international tax planning
Experience with corporate taxation in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and African countries
Build strong working relationships with finance directors to understand the business activities, identify tax issues, and advise on tax issues related to business plans
Responsible for assisting service providers with the accurate and timely preparation of non-U.S. tax returns
Research and document relevant local country tax laws in support of tax return positions and tax planning
Apply knowledge of OECD requirements, cross-border arrangements, and income tax treaties
Manage and assist with tax planning projects and transactions by providing technical analysis and engaging with a cross section of functions at all levels within the OpCos and Vontier teams
Support the development of plans for the utilization of tax attributes
Provide tax support to deliver efficiencies to the Group’s operating structure
Identify and address developments in international tax law impacting the Group’s organization and operating structure.
Analyze and monitor permanent establishment risk for group companies
Effectively support local tax controversies with the direction of Senior Director; work with local finance teams and in-country advisors, gather and prepare appropriate supporting documentation
Be a business partner to the divisions by providing oversight on issues such as employment taxes and indirect taxes and, providing day-to-day tax advice to the OpCos to assist with decision making
Assist with transfer pricing issues and planning
Review local TP documentation for accuracy of business facts
Support tax integration or separation efforts for acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring
In conjunction with the group’s outsourced compliance providers, facilitate information gathering, as needed
Coordinate other ad-hoc tax support requested by the OpCos
Who You Are
You are a self-motivated problem solver who is detail-oriented and eager to grow professionally within the International Tax function
10+ years of a combination of public accounting and in-house experience
Licensed CPA, Chartered Accountant, or other designation
Strong knowledge of local country taxation, OECD, and other global initiatives with a good understanding of international tax concepts including transfer pricing
Good working knowledge of US GAAP and US/international tax interaction
Successful working independently and as a member of a team
Desire and ability to contribute to the continuous development and success of our team
Collaborative and customer service oriented
OneSource Tax Provision software and tax automation experience is preferred experience (with Alteryx or comparable tool is a plus)
High level of demonstrated technical proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to build strong collaborative relationships within the business and corporate teams
Excellent written and oral communication skills
