Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including the preparation of financial statements, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will also manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, as well as ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements and other reports to summarize the current and projected financial position of the company
Analyze financial information and prepare financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, meeting all closing deadlines
Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures
Prepare financial management reports
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis
Ongoing management and support of budget and forecasting activities
Monitor and support tax-related activities
Development and maintenance of financial databases
Monitoring cash flow and preparing forecasts
Providing support to the external auditors during the annual audit process
Develop internal control systems to ensure the accuracy of financial information
Supervise accounting staff and mentor accountants to ensure quality accounting and analytical duties
Analyze financial data to recommend or develop effective use of resources and procedures, provide strategic guidance and support solutions to business and financial problems
Analyze and advise on business activities, including revenue and expense trends, financial obligations, and future earnings

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience in handling several entities
Previous experience in leading a team
Related qualification and certification
5+ years of professional experience. Extensive experience in IFRS, and GAAP is a must
