About the Position:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to join Emirates Transport – Finance team. The primary responsibility of a Senior Accountant is to prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, P&L, CF statements, and ratio analysis. Review of trial balance and reconciliation, manual JV, and audit support are also required.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop financial statements and monthly-to-quarterly reports.
Maintain and review the general ledger and reconciled balance sheets and ensure proper closing of periodic and annual accounts
Coordinate and review the detailed schedules and reconciliations of all key accounts monthly and ensures easy accessibility of these schedules, when required
Coordinate and assist in the introduction of Management Accounting Systems
Maintain the accounting database and ensure proper implementation of the applicable system for accounts administration
Monitor work processes and report key metrics for the General Accounting
Responsible for maintaining the requisite technical standards of accounting
Offer analysis of the validity of disclosure and comparability of financial statements with previous reporting periods to comply with GAAP
Prepares, consolidates, and submits the monthly and annual accounts of the company through a robust financial reporting system aimed at the effective implementation of policies
Maintains general accounting entries on ledgers. Offer oversight as needed
Review trial balance and maintain manual journal voucher
Accounting control for sister companies – subsidiaries, joint ventures, associates
Maintain accounting software and related bookkeeping tools
Establish and maintain a technically sound Management Accounting System
Maintain and review the general ledger and reconciled balance sheets and ensure proper closing of periodic and annual accounts
Manage the accurate recording of monthly statements in the appropriate journals and ledger
Coordinate and review the detailed schedules and reconciliations of all key accounts monthly and ensures easy accessibility of these schedules, when required
Prepare quarterly/yearly financial statements for auditing and review purposes.
Provide relevant information to statutory, internal, and external auditors, address their queries during financial audits and ensure implementation of action points raised by auditors if any
Ensure reports showing the financial standing of the business are prepared for the concerned government agencies as well as reports on bond compliance and tax filing, among others
Revised financial information developed must be uncompromised and factual including financial statements

Expected Qualifications:

BS degree in Accounting, Finance
Experience and Skills Set:

8 – 10 years of experience in a relevant field
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAA)
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
