Sister Midwives:

To work within both the nursing and labour and delivery team to provide evidence based,
holistic care to a group of patients throughout the care pathway.
To take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of the Matron.
To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of nurses & midwife
within the department.
To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide patients and relatives with high quality
nursing care and information.
Deals personally with patients, families and carers in order to aid resolution of complaints.
Acts as a role model at all times and contributes to the provision of nursing expertise and
specialist knowledge within the area of practice.
Support the Matron by leading & managing projects and timelines.
Particular emphasis is put on the need to ensure that all staff recognize their responsibility
to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, patient focused manner maintaining patient
confidentiality at all times.

Senior Midwives:

To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of nurses & midwife
within the department.

Acts as a role model at all times and contributes to the provision of nursing expertise and
specialist knowledge within the area of practice.

Staff Midwives:

This position will support women and their families through pregnancy and labour and
immediately after birth. They will be responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional care
of their patients during delivery. This position will provide prenatal and postnatal education,
examine the patient during the pregnancy, and assist patients in creating birth plans. Midwife
will also ensure the health and well-being of the newborn and mother during delivery.

Qualfication:
UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA)
• Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or Degree in Midwifery (minimum three years course duration) And Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
Experience
• Has worked in hospital or similar setting for at least 3 years as Midwives - years of experience required varies depending on the level of Seniority of the role at Kings
