Role: Manager Shari’a Training (Internal Shari’a Control Group)
Location: Abu Dhabi - Head Office
ROLE PURPOSE:
Managing the tasks related to Shari’a training in ADIB by raising the overall level of Islamic banking awareness across the bank and assisting the Head of Shari’a Training Department (“STD”) in the Internal Shari’a Control Division (“ISCD”).
Key Accountabilities of the role:
To assist the Head of Shari’a Training in managing and leading the STD according to best practice in training in general and in Islamic banking training specifically.
To manage Shari’a and Islamic banking knowledge base in ADIB group through developing training courses and materials to comply with the CBUAE Shari’a Governance Standard.
To contribute in developing comprehensive training courses (in Arabic and English) with all required materials and infrastructure for all levels of employees and addressing all areas of functions in ADIB group.
To rely in training on physical and online training using the best technology and programs available in the market with benefiting from online Islamic banking training courses provided by high standard training providers.
To assist Head of Shari’a Training Department in developing training courses on AAOIFI Shari’a standards for ISCD staff and ADIB staff as well.
To contribute in developing training courses for front offices staff and DSU staff on marketing and explaining ADIB’s products and structures of financing transactions.
To play a highly collaborative role to build solid cross-functional relationships with managers of relevant units.
To include the requirements as highlighted by the Head of Shari’a Training Department in training modules once discussed with the division heads.
To assist the Head of Shari’a Training Department in preparing reports at the end of the fiscal year, to the ISSC and CEO with the implementation of training plan of that year.
Provide ongoing (on-job-training) and guidance to all subordinate staff in order to improve the awareness and the level of Shari’a knowledge and related skills.
Review and approve goals and objectives for all subordinate staff in line with job profile, plans, staff skills and the Shari’a Compliance strategy.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge, Technical Competencies Required for this role:
Master’s Degree in Islamic banking.
Solid academic skills in training in Islamic banking.
CISSA and CIPA certifications (or alternative certifications).
Strong knowledge of banking and Islamic banking products.
Strong knowledge of AAOIFI Shari’a Standards.
Excellent communication and presentation Skills.
Excellent training and teaching skills.
Fluent in Arabic and English.
Previous experience:
More than (7) seven years of experience in Shari’a related functions in Islamic banking.
