Description:
Sparrow is seeking a skilled Leave Payroll Analyst to join our Customer Experience team. This role is ideal for military-affiliated professionals including Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The position is fully remote within the U.S., excluding AK, HI, and CA.
This is not a traditional payroll role; instead, you will be responsible for creating customized payroll plans for our clients while supporting internal leave specialists. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll plans, contributing to Sparrow’s mission to streamline leave management for companies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with leave specialists to prepare personalized payroll plans and reconciliations for client payroll teams
• Ensure payroll plans are accurately reflected on the Sparrow dashboard
• Interface with internal teams including sales, marketing, and engineering, as well as clients’ payroll teams
• Assist with onboarding and setup of customized payroll schedules and workflows
• Share best practices and support clients with leave payroll processes
• Provide product feedback and identify improvements for payroll calculations and software integrations
• Implement process improvements to address inefficiencies and client pain points
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or other data-focused roles
• Expert-level Excel skills, including formulas, functions, and spreadsheet formatting
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Clear and empathetic verbal and written communication skills
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential information
• Self-directed, adaptable, and receptive to feedback in a fast-paced environment
• Eagerness to learn and become a subject matter expert in leave payroll
Compensation & Benefits:
• Hourly, non-exempt position
• Pay ranges from $23.11 to $28.56 per hour, based on state of residence
• Equivalent annual salary: $45,000-$60,000
