Junior Accountant Required in Dubai

Introduction:

Based in Singapore with offices in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, Goldstream Global is an independent precious metals investment and trading house. We focus on ethically sourced precious metals, and we support a wide client base including private and institutional investors, jewellery manufacturers and refineries.

We are seeking a finance manager to join our Dubai office. The candidate will work closely with operations and sales leaders. In addition, the candidate will be working closely with our global offices and partners in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Job Description:

Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Assist with other accounting projects

Skills:

Advanced English Proficiency
Strong accounting background and the ability to effectively communicate financial matters when and as required.
A proactive and intentional approach to problem solving.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Understanding of accounting and accounting principles.
Understanding of regional VAT and tax laws and the relevant applications in the ledger.
UAE Experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

Professional education in business administration, finance or equivalent at a reputed institution or equivalent work experience
Finance or Accounting Certificate is a must e.g., CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or CFA is a must.
A persistent nature and a willingness to understand and overcome operational challenges/obstacles.
Ability to understand processes and challenges and effectively communicate internally.
Proficient Russian language is an advantage.
