IT Engineer – ICT Delivery Management (Cloud and storage)

The objective of this role is to accomplish all delivery and implementation activities associated with cloud and storage technologies. The role is required to implement standard and non-standard services for both platforms and customer solutions. The role requires complete “hands-on” technical experience on multi-vendor cloud solutions and associated storage system along with integration activities to meet the respective requirements. This position needs to engage with the technical expertise provided by vendors, system integrators, and OEM partners and coordinate the provisioning and commissioning of cloud and storage technologies.

The role must understand and deliver Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) services. The role is responsible to deliver on-demand access to computing resources such as networking, storage, and servers within the providers’ infrastructure to support platforms and applications. The role should configure cloud environment in which to develop, manage, and host applications. The role is responsible for the underlying infrastructure delivery along with security, operating systems, and backups, installing, managing or upgrading software for public, private, hybrid cloud solutions.

The role is responsible for managing how the cloud and storage services interact. The role requires technical skills associated with cloud technologies in the marketplace such as those provided by VMWare, Microsoft, AWS, and Google. The knowledge of Open-source cloud technologies will be considered as desirable for this role. Similarly, the role should have knowledge of a range of storage types, including flash storage, Software-Defined Storage (SDS), data protection software, hybrid storage arrays, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and tape storage. The role requires working knowledge of Storage technologies such as those provided by Dell, HPE, EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, and so on. In addition to these OEM vendors, the role also requires working knowledge of software-based storage such as Cloudian, Scality, etc.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Responsible to for developing the low-level design documents to deploy platform and customer solutions in the market in timely and efficient manner.

2. Translate service design and high-level design content in to detailed technical specifications in coordination with vendors and System Integrators to meet the overall delivery milestones.

3. Prepare Low-level Design Documents in coordination with the OEM Vendors and System Integrators on technical designs and solutions with all necessary options required to fulfill the customers stated technical requirements.

4. Provide recommendations on technical options for implementation and delivery of standardized and customized solutions.

5. Prepare evaluation criteria on solution design, delivery/integration, and operation handover.

6. Contribute content with vendors and System Integrators for the necessary SOPs, LLDs, workplans, and responsibility matrix.

7. Define/adjust processes on end-to-end management of the delivery service, governance, monitoring, change management, fault management, provisioning / decommissioning.

8. Support service provisioning and service assurance functions during the transition phases to fulfill the proposed solutions to the customers

Qualifications:

Minimum Experience

· Minimum 5 years of hand-on experience in Infrastructure delivery and implementation, demonstration of complex project delivery role related to delivery & implementation within the ICT industry

· Experience in delivery and implementation Cloud Platforms (IaaS, PaaS and/or SaaS) and storage systems.

· Strong technical expertise and experience in enterprise orchestration platforms, workflow technologies, project management and business processes.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

Familiar with sourcing & legal aspects of cloud platforms

Minimum Education:

§ Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

§ Requires Cloud certifications or other cloud technology based industry certifications

§ Desirable Certifications (CISSP, ITIL, MCSE / CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certifications)

§ Project management skills (PMI)

§ Soft Skills such as preparing presentations, document writing, negotiations, customer interactions, and escalation management.

Knowledge & Skills:

§ Knowledge of Service Delivery Architectures and Designs.

§ Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and standards.

§ Good understanding of Cloud Data Governance and GRC stack.

§ Industry knowledge and proven vendor & partner management capability.

§ Experience in project planning, monitoring and implementation.

§ Establishing solid working relationships with various stakeholders/departments, Internal Control and Strategy and Investments
