ABL UAE has an opportunity for a “General Accountant” to join our growing team in Dubai office. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your finance career within a global consultancy company. In this role the successful candidate will work with in a team of finance professionals for our Middle East region.

The role

As General Accountant you will support the accounting operations from Dubai office in all day-to-day activities within the middle east region supporting your team members and management.

Key responsibilities

Prepare, issue and record sales invoices daily.
Assist in the preparation of sales forecast on regular basis.
Calculate work in progress at regular intervals and present it to supervisors for review.
Create new projects in the ERP to allow technical staff to enter their timesheets.
Maintain and monitor a common Finance Email ID.
Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Weekly & monthly review of timesheets.
Chase debtors.
Record supplier timesheet, invoices, and expenses.
Record and process employee expenses in the ERP.
Reporting to Finance Director of weekly & monthly activities.
Working in coordination with Finance Director to complete year end audits.
Our group company is listed on Oslo Stock Market. Due to this reason, we have a very strict deadline for month end reporting and the successful candidate will be expected to adhere to these deadlines.

We are looking to engage someone locally, and will provide transfer visa if required.

Qualifications and Experience required

We are looking for a candidate with minimum 5 years’ experience of working in an accounting department in Middle East. Previous experience of issuing invoices in a service industry will be preferred. Our company uses NetSuite (ERP) to run the operations, candidates with knowledge of this software will have advantage over others. Further to this you will:

Have a Master’s degree in Accounting, OR, Professional qualification such as CPA/CMA/ACCA/CA/CIMA.
Have good communication skill for both writing & speaking and be fluent in English language.
General knowledge of VAT in UAE/KSA is an advantage.
Understanding of project-based accounting system will be a plus.
Our customer base includes insurance clients, and we would prefer someone with the knowledge of insurance industry.
