Fixed Asset Accountant Required in Dubai

We are looking for an Fixed Asset Accountant to join our Finance team. He/ she will report to the Chief Accountant at the Khazna Head Office in Dubai. He/ she will focus on:

1. Creating and monitoring a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.

2. Recommending to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.

3. Assigning tag numbers to fixed assets.

4. Recording fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.

5. Tracking the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.

6. Reconciling the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.

7. Calculating depreciation for all fixed assets.

8. Reviewing and updating the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.

9. Calculating asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicable.

10. Investigating the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.

11. Conducting periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.

12. Conducting periodic physical counts of fixed assets.

13. Recommending to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.

14. Conducting analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.

15. Preparing audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

16. Tracking company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.

Eligibility requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years in Fixed Asset Accounting
Understanding of IFRS
Strong Accounting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Work experience in Oracle ERP would be an added advantage
Excellent written and oral English communication skills
