Discovered is partnered with one of 'the' leading Telecom companies in the world, which also has a strong presence in the MENA region.

The company is going through major changes in its financial system and as such, they need someone who has proven, deep experience in processes and procedures.

Requirements

At least 8 years post qualification experience
At least 3 years of Financial Controller/Finance Manager level experience
Preferably first-hand transformational experience within a telecoms/technology
Needs to have Tech, Digital or Telecom startup experience
Hands on experience with ERP system implementation - Doesn't matter which ERP.
Working knowledge of IFRS / GAAP
Advanced in Excel

The Role

Ensuring approved budgets and Business plans are executed within approved limits via monitoring efficiency and effectiveness of the expense spends, re-directing budget spends to ensure optimal efficiency levels
Maintain and Monitor Financial and Operational KPIs and raise red flags if the KPIs are in divergence against the Budgeted / Planned KPIs
Work closely with Marketing and Sales teams to evaluate and monitor the outcome of various promotional activities carried out and ensure these promotions adds value to the organization
Along with the Sales operations team, monitor sales channel efficiencies and advise the management on channel spending that could accrue maximum benefit for the Organization
Benchmark relevant operational KPIs across the opcos internally and against the industry standards and highlight management areas for Improvement
Evaluate various CAPEX needs submitted by various departments, rationalize the spend and prepare business cases to evaluate such spend
Monitor actual OPEX spend against the Budgets / Business Plans and preparation of Variance Analysis reports with proposed action for improvements where relevant
Working closely with Revenue assurance team and BI team to ensure wholesale costs are calculated accurately, and processes required for set up accurate calculation and compliance towards wholesale agreements are maintained and reviewed periodically
Ensure Fixed assets registers and Inventories are maintained and updated accurately and aligned with the GL balances
Periodic reporting towards various department heads on their actual spend against the budget
Contribute to timely completion of annual statutory audits in collaboration with the Reporting team
Preparation of Ongoing cash flow forecasts to identify short-term and long-term funding needs and inform foreseen shortfalls to management to make timely decisions relating to cash management
Establishing, maintaining and updating Finance related processes, policies and procedures and internal financial controls, within the various departments in collaboration with department heads.
Responsible for ensuring full and correct use of the company’s ERP and other financial accounting and reporting systems by various users in the organization, including modernization of ERP-modules and systems in general
Ensuring Financial reporting comply with applicable legislation, policies, standards, regulations and generally acceptable accounting principles and practice.
Responsible for coordination of various Tax related matters across the opcos with the Tax consultants
Responsibility for ESR reporting and timely and accurate regulatory reporting

Qualifications

Professional qualification from a recognized professional body in the field of Finance (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or Similar)
