Fabric Development Manager Required in Dubai

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Fabric Development Manager, you will work on all aspects of fabric research and development, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure developments are in line with the business strategies. You will report to the Global Head of Materials & Sustainability. You will work in a cross-functional team to meet the business needs, including but not limited to the Sourcing and Product Team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Manage materials creation processes from concept to bulk production.
Guide suppliers to translate design vision into innovative fabrics meeting the commercial needs of the brand.
Keep leading time on track, meeting critical dates, performance, sustainability, specification, and profitability goals.
Provide technical support for the designers on fabrics
Communicate and monitor materials integrity requirements
Address and identify key challenges and issues in manufacturing, providing an effective plan to deliver proven and tested materials.
Set up and manage materials specs and prototype of seasonal catalogs.
Scout new materials, dyeing process, technologies to align with the sustainability initiatives of The Giving Movement
Keep updated on material trends, providing relevant inputs from suppliers' meetings, fairs, fabric shows, etc.
Support supply base transparency-related reporting (Green bond and material footprint).

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

Bachelor´s degree in Textile Engineering/Textile Design or related field.
3+ years of textile industry experience.
Knowledge of materials supplier with testing/technical support, able to communicate on behalf of The Giving Movement
Robust knowledge of textile from fibers, yarn, material construction, finishing, and printing.
Familiar with AATCC, ISO, GRS, Oeko-Tex, etc.
Understand product creation timeline and be able to work against deadlines for the overlapping season.
Knowledge on development techniques (equipment/process/ materials functionalization)
Strong IT skills (MS office), PLM system, Adobe, and Illustrator
Ability to make and drive decisions, act comfortably with risk, and cope with changes
Energetic mindset and personality, inspire others, have determination and initiative.
