DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs professional, comprehensive, and diagnostic examination of patients during consultation in the outpatient clinic.
Provides expert endocrine interventions for ambulatory and hospitalized patients in the General and Endocrine section.
Makes daily rounds to patients under care in the inpatient section of the hospital.
Participates and contributes to in-service activities attending or imparting lectures and conferences; and keeping abreast of latest techniques, procedures, and drug therapy.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities and other hospital-wide committee functions.
Coordinates the activities of referred patients with other related medical team discipline prior to the conduction of endocrine invasive procedures.
Contributes to the development of new or revision of an existing policies and procedures relating to endocrine medical specialty aiming for high quality healthcare delivery.
Coordinates, and monitors healthcare services provided in the Department to promote efficiency, treatment effectiveness, and well-being of patients
Works as a team player in planning and implementation of integrated preventive and curative endocrine medical care programs, following an effective peer review within the Department.
Collaborates with consultants of related or collaborative specialty in planning programs integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care.
Utilizes and monitors personnel assisting in the procedures (i.e. OR Nurses, OR, Pathology, and Radiology technicians) in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Participates in the T.Q.M. programs in collaboration with T.Q.M. Department. Must be active member of hospital-wide committees like Code Blue Committee in a position designated or elected by committee members.
Provides continuing education, training, and demonstration by sharing new procedures and techniques to colleagues, nurses, and technicians assigned within the department in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Research Center.
Attends to work and on-call schedules on time and performs duties completely before ending the shift.
Endorses to the next shift any uncompleted task to be continued and/or completed.
Responses to emergencies in the hospital without delay during on-call duty.
Attends to scheduled or unscheduled meetings to discuss and resolve problems.
Conducts lectures to diabetic patients as to the nature of their disease and how to take care of diabetic feet, and prevention of other complications.
Performs other duties necessary to effect efficient services in the department without hesitation
