Cost Accountant Required in Dubai

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our accounting department. You’ll be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports.

You should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate profit margins to help pricing decisions. The ideal candidates should have good knowledge of standard and absorption costing processes and also be able to create detailed reports for variances and cost analysis.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Perform month-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
Prepares actual vs plan (budget) analysis. Prepare various financial analyses related to manufacturing costs and inventory.
Set up new raw material, packaging, WIP and FG items, review and maintain production BOM, and maintain periodic cost rolls/updates.
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Analyze actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing the standard cost to actual production costs.
Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
Prepares estimates of new and proposed products or services costs.
Recommends cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in the system.
Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
Lead and manage the quarterly Inventory Physical counting activities and prepares corresponding Inventory variance Reports.
Ensures validity and accuracy of the system through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing.
Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
Closing production orders on a daily basis by reviewing the variances.
Closing of service orders on a monthly basis.
Monitor machine capacity utilization and hours efficiency and Periodic overhead rates update.
Support the sales department with the pricing of products in coordination with the planning department.
Review the margin for each job and obtain the required approval if applicable to release the job.
Monitor slow-moving inventory and prepare the projected provision reports for management decision-making.
Performs other tasks required by the immediate supervisor and or Finance Manager.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, cost accounting, preferably in the Packaging/Manufacturing Industry in the UAE.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a relevant field

Skills Aabilibilities

Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions.
Strong grasp of GAAP/IFRS accounting and general accounting concepts.
Demonstrate ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
