Role Description The Director at The Retirement Group is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for overseeing key business functions, including client service delivery, operational efficiency, and team performance. The Director will lead, mentor, and develop staff, set and monitor departmental goals, and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing business metrics, coordinating with advisory teams, managing strategic initiatives, and improving processes to enhance client outcomes. The Director will collaborate with senior leadership on growth strategies, support recruitment and training efforts, and represent the firm in client and partner meetings.Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience in financial services, wealth management, or a related professional services environment.
Proven ability to manage teams, set performance goals, and drive accountability while fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture.
Strong understanding of retirement planning, investment principles, or willingness to quickly gain expertise in these areas.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills for working with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
Experience managing operations, budgets, or projects, with a focus on process improvement and measurable outcomes.
High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA, MBA) are a plus.
Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA, and to adapt in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
