The HEDES group is hiring an Art Director who can join immediately!
The candidate for this position is responsible for managing and supporting a team of graphic designers to bring concepts, presentations, and prototypes to life. The ideal candidate must have a natural eye for design and a passion for delivering dynamic ideas that connect with our audience.
You will collaborate on the ideation and development of innovative marketing campaigns. Participate in the execution of the entire creative process within an allotted time frame and budget.
Also, lead presentations and effectively communicate a creative vision. Collaborate with managers, designers, writers, other marketing team members, and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate concepts, themes, and messages are represented effectively and consistently for the business objectives and audiences.
You will be working in a creative, fast-paced environment that requires proven leadership and vision execution by partnering with cross-functional departments to translate business and marketing objectives into ideas that are clear, compelling, and visually exciting.
Objectives of this Role
· Develop presentation approaches, styles, and techniques for the team to implement
· Leads the creative development and execution of both interactive and print projects under the guidance of the Creative Director
· Works collaboratively with marketing and developers in the creation of interactive projects like email campaigns, websites, user interfaces, mobile apps, and videos
· Establishes brand-appropriate creative approaches
· Participates in meetings, creative discussions, strategy discussions, and development of presentations
· Strong conceptual, graphic design, type, and page layout skills for projects ranging from print to interactive to broadcast.
· Work with project managers and associate creative directors to ensure that schedules are accurate and realistic, and deadlines met.
· Stay on top of the latest standards, processes, and trends in the visual design field.
· Responsible for all pre-production meetings for projects including photoshoots, video editing, broadcast, and fulfillment.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
· Work with the creative team to establish a unified brand understanding and voice for the company, helming a creative audit to elevate our innovation
· Conceptualize campaign vision, harnessing original graphics, copy, content websites, social media, and other marketing materials
· Develop creative briefs based on ideas established in brainstorming sessions with direction, schedules, and expected deliverables for the creative team
· Obtain team approval by presenting final layouts, storyboards, and illustrations, encouraging members to provide feedback, and responding to internal commentary and requests
· Present or oversee the presentation of final concepts and coordinate production and dissemination for cross-organizational use
· Delegate projects to in-house designers and oversees storyboards
· Establish art department standards for production, productivity, quality, and client service.
· Ensure team adheres to current processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and proposing and creating processes and tools to support design operations.
· Analyse market trends, consumer needs, and the competitive landscape, and track campaign performance.
Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in fine art, graphic design, or similar discipline
· 8+ years as a professional designer with experience in managing a team of creative talent
· Proven experience with luxury brands
· Expert level skills in Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), the Google suite of apps, and a working knowledge of emerging interactive design trends
· Exceptional capability with typography, layout, and prototyping
· Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives
· Partner closely with Marketing and social media to build a compelling, strategic, and effective content roadmap
· Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
· Generate clear ideas, concepts, and designs of creative assets from beginning to end
· Execute and produce a mix of graphic, motion, and photographic content
· Support multiple business lines with creation of art assets
· Must understand design in multiple mediums — print, digital, mobile.
