Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable Associate plays a crucial role in safeguarding cashflow by managing collections and account balances. You will conduct regular outreach to clients, resolve billing questions, issue statements and collection notices, and investigate discrepancies so invoices are paid on time and contractual terms are honored.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain regular client contact via phone and email to follow up on outstanding balances and foster professional relationships.
• Investigate and resolve invoice or account discrepancies; resend invoices and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Prepare and distribute monthly statements and collection notices.
• Monitor delinquent accounts, assess collection risk, and escalate to external counsel when appropriate.
• File and track bankruptcy proofs of claim, and coordinate related collection activities.
• Review monthly AR reports and proactively follow up on past-due accounts.
• Report potential payment risks to management promptly.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned to support the finance team.
Education, Skills & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant post-secondary coursework or degree is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume B2B collections or accounts receivable.
• Familiarity with best practices in collections and AR management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional phone etiquette.
• Comfortable working in an imaged/document-managed environment.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Location & Work Environment
• This is a 100% remote role that supports east-to-west coast U.S. time zones.
• Candidates must be located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.
• A private, quiet workspace suitable for professional calls and confidential work is required.
• Occasional travel may be required for meetings or team events.
