Accounts Payable Specialist - Dubai

Moda Operandi is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join its finance team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate processing of vendor invoices, timely payments, reconciliations, and vendor communications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Accurately enter, code, and process invoices using NetSuite inventory billing.
• Ensure invoices are prepared and scheduled for payment on time.
• Handle vendor and payment-related queries via Zendesk with professionalism.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices.
• Recover deposits from closed or quantity-adjusted items.
• Collaborate with internal teams to distribute and authorize invoices for timely payment.
• Maintain professional and effective communication with vendors.
• Perform purchase ledger reconciliations and maintain banking/payment records.
• Prepare payment runs through NetSuite and Transfermate, including wires and ACH.
• Upload invoices and supporting documents into NetSuite.
• Organize and archive financial records accurately and promptly.
• Verify vendor statements and resolve mismatches.
• Support accounting functions with ad hoc reporting and reconciliation duties.
• Maintain and update internal spreadsheets related to accounts payable.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Previous retail industry experience preferred; inventory accounting knowledge essential.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; NetSuite experience highly preferred.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles (debits, credits, accruals).
• Excellent communication abilities via phone, video, email, and Slack.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Comfortable meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to improve finance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
