Accountant - Dubai

Our client — an established American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee — is seeking a contract Accountant to provide remote transactional accounting support for field offices. This is a fully remote role expected to run for at least one year and includes a two-month training period. The position emphasizes accurate day-to-day accounting, strong communication with field offices, and the ability to manage closing and commission workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform transactional accounting duties for assigned field locations.
• Process vouchers and post journal entries using JD Edwards (or similar ERP).
• Handle commission runs and monthly reconciliations during period close.
• Support payroll-related tasks and 1099 processing as required.
• Train and onboard new contractors on established accounting procedures.
• Maintain professional communication and relationships with field office contacts.
• Assist with office-specific accounting projects and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Work effectively under deadlines in a dynamic environment, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals — debits/credits, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Excel for worksheet maintenance and data manipulation.
• Comfortable using Outlook for email and calendaring.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills for frequent interaction with field teams.
• Ability to learn and work with JD Edwards or comparable ERP systems preferred.
• Prior experience in transactional accounting, accounts payable, commissions and period close is a plus.
• Comfortable adapting to a fast-paced, remote work environment.
