Job descriptions
 Compiling annual budget, variance reports, weekly management reports, etc.
 It is also the duty of the food and beverage assistant to monitor the work of the restaurant employees to ensure that company’s policies and procedures are being followed.
 The food and beverage assistant is the one who oversees all the follow up work to ensure that there will not occur again any instances of work related errors that may cost the business negatively.
 The food and beverage assistant will report to the food and beverage manager directly.
 It is the duty of the food and beverage assistant to focus on maximizing the profitability of the food and beverage operations of the hotel or restaurant and also carry out menu strategies that will help him/her to achieve this goal.
 It is also the duty of the food and beverage assistant to ensure that work shifts within the restaurant are well staffed.
 The food and beverage assistant must be able to manage the bartenders and the food service staff accordingly. A good and effective food and beverage assistant should also be able to interact well with the guests at the restaurant. They are also supposed to inform the staff there about any food related concerns and be able to resolve any guest complaints or other issues.
 Food and beverage assistants are also required to adhere to standard operating procedures and ensure that areas where food is served meet the regulatory requirements (e.g. regulatory requirements in United Arab Emirates).
 A good food and beverage assistant must be able to know a client’s expectations and needs. A good food and beverage assistant should also understand the food and beverage available in the restaurant or hotel. A good food and beverage assistant should also be attentive to client’s requests and be on stand-by to ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved. This is what will help the restaurant, hotel or the food outlet realize more profits as a result of repeat customers.
 Food and beverage assistants with good team leadership skills will find the position easy to work in because these are the skills that will be needed to motivate other workers under them to provide good service. A result oriented food and beverage assistant normally is successful in discharging his/her duties in the position.
